Thunder on the Mountain 2020

Presented by Vulcan Park and Museum at Vulcan Park and Museum

For decades, Vulcan Park and Museum has been hailed as presenting one of the largest and most extravagant Independence Day traditions in the state of Alabama—and this year will be no exception. On Saturday, July 4 at 9 p.m., we will once again illuminate the skies above Birmingham’s beloved iron man, Vulcan.

Thunder on the Mountain 2020 presented by Medical Properties Trust and Hibbett Sports is free to the public. This year’s show will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature a variety of firework shells that will brighten the sky with new colors and patterns. This year’s show is a celebration of resillency.  The show will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack that will feature a mix of patriotic favorites, popular music, songs of inspiration

Because the fireworks can be seen from miles around, viewers will be able to maintain safe distances from others, and those who are uncomfortable leaving home may watch the live broadcast on WBRC Fox 6 News.
