BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON

Presented by The DANE at Birmingham Festival Theatre

The DANE is pumped to bring you the “unauthorized musical bio” of Andrew Jackson. Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson follows America’s seventh president from his early days as a child in the pioneer territory of Tennessee to his unconventional reign in Washington, DC. With the country divided into rich and poor, Jackson began his steady climb from military strategist to populist rabble-rouser to President of the United States. Along the way, he meets his wife, Rachel, takes on the Founding Fathers, and rocks like no political figure had ever rocked before. The show also asks the tough question: is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him President?

Playing May 12 to 21, 2016, at Birmingham Festival Theatre, The DANE has assembled a knock-out cast of performers to blow the roof off the joint!  Lead by J. Clayton Winters in the title role, The DANE welcomes back to our stage Dana Porter, Russ Hobbie, Tawny Stephens, Michael W. Cleary and first-timer’s Holly Croney Dikeman, James Noah Duffy, Jill Fister, Jordan A. Giddens, Nathan Merritt, David Strickland and Natalie Valentine.  There’s not a better group to blaze through this rock-musical, under the Music Direction of Brandon Robertson and Valerie Accetta.

Parental Advisory: This production uses adult language/themes and is intended for mature audiences.
