The Machine Performs Pink Floyd

The Machine Performs Pink Floyd

Presented by Alabama Theatre at Alabama Theatre

THE MACHINE PERFORMS THE MUSIC OF PINK FLOYD WITH THE ALABAMA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AT THE ALABAMA THEATRE ON SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2016

THE MACHINE, America’s TOP live Pink Floyd show, will perform backed by The Alabama Symphony Orchestra at The Alabama Theatre, 1817 Third Avenue North, Birmingham, AL, on Saturday, May 7th at 8:00 P.M.   Tickets are $29.50-$62.50.   This is open to patrons of all ages.  For more information call 205-975-2787 or visit http://www.alabamasymphony.org/Special-Pink-Floyd-and-The-Machine.htm

The orchestra will by led by Christopher Confessore, Resident Conductor and Principal Pops Conductor of The Alabama Symphony Orchestra.  The program will include three sets: the first is a diverse mix of Pink Floyd’s extensive repertoire; the second being Wish You Were Here in its entirety; and the third will be an extended encore with just The Machine.  Additionally, Lightwave International, the laser company utilized by Roger Waters, will duplicate the classic Pink Floyd concert experience.

Confessore comments, “Last year’s sold out performance by the ASO and The Machine was one of the highlights of the season! The atmospheric instrumentals that are such a huge part of the Pink Floyd sound match perfectly with a symphony orchestra. Add a spectacular laser show and you have a truly unique collaboration, and a concert that folks will NOT want to miss!”

The members of The Machine include: Joe Pascarell (guitar, vocals), Tahrah Cohen (drums), Ryan Ball (bass, vocals) and Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals).

For close to 30 years, The Machine has forged a reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating another legacy all their own. Over the years, The Machine has touched the hearts and souls of many, selling out theaters, large clubs and casinos across North and Central America, Europe and Asia. The band has been backed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Delaware Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony and more!

In the classic tradition, The Machine explores collective improvisation paralleling and even rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd mentality. Their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays continues in the spirit of the later Floyd lineups of the 1980’s. The band is also known for recreating entire albums as a part of their show, accepting requests from fans, and for taking an A to Z approach in which one song is played for every letter of the alphabet.

“The Machine duplicates the sound and hits of Pink Floyd with chilling accuracy.” – Matt Diehl, Rolling Stone Magazine

“The Machine sounds exactly like Pink Floyd.” – Matthew Weber, Spin Magazine

“These guys are great!” -Bob Ezrin, co-producer of Pink Floyd’s The Wall
