Learn about the work of the League of Women Voters in Alabama with support of the national Campaign Legal Committee to educate and re-enfranchise returning citizens following certain felony convictions. Many have not lost their right to vote.
Many in Alabama believe that citizens with a previous felony conviction have lost their right to vote. In fact, most convictions do not result in the loss of voting rights. For those that do, there are processes for restoring those rights.
At this Zoom meeting (Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 6:00 PM), Kathy Jones, LWV of Alabama Voting Rights Restoration lead, and Blair Bowie, Campaign Legal Center Counsel and Restore Your Vote Manager, will educate us about voting rights restoration in Alabama and will tell us about the work League members are doing throughout the state. Jones and Bowie will be available to answer questions following the presentation.
