Birmingham Progressive Christian Alliance and International House of Peace present PEACE Talk! PEACE Talk is a monthly talk given by renowned speakers on the topics of peace and social justice. PEACE Talk will take place at various locations around the state and will be streamed live via the web. Join us at Beloved Community Church for our first PEACE Talk featuring Dr. Douglas P. Fry on April 21, 2016 at 6:00 pm.

Dr. Fry is an anthropologist, author, and chair of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Fry’s ability to make complex topics interesting and to explore the serious subjects of war and peace with a blend of realism and hopefulness has received praise from luminaries such as Jeffrey Sachs, Frans de Waal, and Robert Sapolsky. Central to Fry’s work is the question: How can we assure human rights and develop ways to deal with conflicts without violence? His publications include books such as War, Peace and Human Nature as well as The Human Potential for Peace to name a couple and journals such as “Science” and “American Anthropologist”.
