Alabama Splash Adventure Coasterthon

Alabama Splash Adventure Coasterthon

Presented by Alabama Splash Adventure at Alabama's Splash Adventure Waterpark

Alabama Splash Adventure is hosting a coaster marathon to raise funds and awareness for Children’s of Alabama. The 2nd Annual Coasterthon will be held on Friday, June 10th from 3-9am. Roller coaster enthusiasts who register for the fundraising contest compete for a spot on the Rampage Wooden Roller Coaster.  The top fundraisers will earn a seat and will then compete to see who can last the longest during the 6 hours of continuous riding. The fundraisers who last the full duration and the individual who raises the most money overall will be rewarded with special prizes. To register for the event or sign up to sponsor a rider visit www.alabamasplash.com/events. Every dollar raised goes to an amazing cause, so everybody wins!

Season opening for the summer is Saturday, May 28th. Two new rides added for the season are the Drop Zone and the Tea Cups. Drop Zone will raise guests of all ages nearly 30 feet in the air and offer riders a series of rapid climbs and falls. The Tea Cup is a classic ride that allows guests to sit in super-sized colorful teacups as the ride spins in multiple directions. The food offerings and comfort are also improving for 2016. The all new “The General’s Diner” pays homage to the owner and matriarch of the Koch Family- Mrs. Pat Koch also known as “The General.” The Diner will feature high-quality amusement park favorite foods and offer comfortable air-conditioned seating for guests.  Alabama Splash Adventure has also added cooling misters throughout the park so guests can cool off on hot summer days.

The owner and President Dan Koch says “Our family has made extensive progress to the amusement park since we took over in 2014 including the renovation of the 3,500 foot long Rampage Wooden Roller Coaster that reaches a speed of nearly 60 mph. Alabama Splash Adventure offers two theme parks including family rides and slides for one great price. Free unlimited Pepsi soft drinks and Gatorade will return this year in the new constructed self-serve “Pepsi Oasis” building that will feature five drink fountains to ensure that guests stay hydrated and rarely have to wait to grab a drink. Guests can also expect to receive free parking, sunscreen, WiFi, and use of inner tubes and life jackets again this season. The amusement park has grown to be Alabama’s premier destination offering a day of family fun where you can come ride, slide and relax.
