The Birmingham style of flower arranging in one word is elegant. Flowers and foliage are handled realistically and mirrors the materials’ natural beauty and growth in the garden. Peggy Conway Fortier, instructor for The Gracious Art of Flower Arranging class, returns to Birmingham Botanical Gardens to take your Floral Arrangements to the next level. This four-part series will start with an over view of the basic steps and principles of design then explore the use of seasonal flowers just in time for summer visitors and wedding season.

Students must bring:
Clippers
Wire cutters
Scissors
Drop cloth
Container (urn, basket, or vegetable bowl; no glass)
Greenery (3 different varieties)
 
List of acceptable Greenery (3-5 piece of each variety chosen to use)
