Science on Screen: Jurassic World in IMAX Dome Theater

Science on Screen: Jurassic World in IMAX Dome Theater

Presented by McWane Science Center at McWane Science Center

Join us on May 5th for McWane’s second “Science on Screen” feature—Jurassic World. “Science on Screen” is a project that pairs screenings of films with lively presentations by notable experts from the world of science, education, technology and engineering. Each film is a jumping-off point for a speaker to explore the history, current research and ethics related to a science topic in the film.

Jurassic World, a new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree. Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will take viewers on a thrilling ride as they strive to stay alive in this thrilling adventure.

Speaker, Jun Ebersole, McWane’s own Director of Collections and local Archaeopaleontologist will help teach us the science behind the screen.

Follow us on social media for updates on the films and speakers that will be featured during the 2021 Science on Screen season.
