Antibiotic Scare!

Dr. Ralph Voss, author and Professor Emeritus of English, University of Alabama will share his personal experience with the dangers of a superbug caused by overuse of antibiotics.  Clostridium difficile is a bacteria that, according to the Centers for Disease Control, is now responsible for more than 14,000 deaths per year in the U.S.  Dr. Voss has authored a book on the subject and will discuss this growing issue of antibiotic resistance.  From 1:30 to 3:00pm, Vestavia Hills Civic Center, 1975 Merryvale Road, Vestavia Hills. Presented by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Greater Birmingham, a chapter of OLLI at UA.
