Dr. Ralph Voss, author and Professor Emeritus of English, University of Alabama will share his personal experience with the dangers of a superbug caused by overuse of antibiotics. Clostridium difficile is a bacteria that, according to the Centers for Disease Control, is now responsible for more than 14,000 deaths per year in the U.S. Dr. Voss has authored a book on the subject and will discuss this growing issue of antibiotic resistance.
