American Sublime: Selections from the Jack and Susan Warner Collection of American Art
June 3 – August 20, 2016
Opening Reception, Friday, June 3 | 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Featuring seventeen works selected from the private collection of Jack and Susan Warner of Tuscaloosa, AL, the exhibition will feature masterpieces of 19th and early 20th century American Art including works by Winslow Homer, Jasper Cropsey, Alfred Jacob Miller, Frederick Frieseke, Thomas Cole, and Frederick Edwin Church, among others. The exhibition will highlight numerous movements in American Art including The Hudson River School and the American Impressionist movement and will foreground the significance of the search for a distinctly American Sublime.

The exhibition is co-curated by Lisa Tamiris Becker, Director, AEIVA and Jessica Dallow, Associate Professor of Art History, UAB.
