The 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference Softball Tournament Championship will take place May 11-14 in Irondale, Ala., at Shea Brothers Softball Complex. This is the first time since 2012 that the tournament will be held at the complex.
The top four finishers from the eastern and western divisions qualify for the SWAC tournament. The team with the highest won-lost percentage during conference play receives the number one seed.
Last year, Texas Southern University successfully defended its championship, downing Alabama State in the finals.
