SEPTIC: A Devised Theatre Production

SEPTIC: A Devised Theatre Production

Presented by University of Montevallo College of Fine Arts at Center for the Arts, University of Montevallo

This play is an artistic response to the raw sewage issues in Lowndes County, Alabama. These students conducted research on Lowndes County that included exploring documentaries, podcasts, first-person interviews, newspaper articles, along with influence from Alabama folk songs, photographs, and information provided by the National Park Service about the current raw sewage issue in Lowndes County. Using the Tectonic Theatre Company’s “Moment Work”, our students created and a devised theatrical response.
