This is a solo show of new work by John DeMotte, a significant Birmingham artist who works primarily in photography and printmaking, specializing in photo intaglio and engraving with monoprint. His work has been included in solo, group, and juried exhibitions, and is found in public and private collections throught the southeast and mid-atlantic.  John DeMotte received his BFA in 1987 from the University of Montevallo and began his career in Washington DC with the Phillips Collection. Since returning to Birmngham on 1991, he has been with the Atchison Gallery/ Village Framers, where he is now Vice President and Master Framer.  He is a founding member of the artists co-operative, PaperWorkersLocal, and has developed workshops on Solar Plate photo-etching and on cyanotype photo processes.
