This is a solo show by John DeMotte, a long-time Birmingham artist who primarily works in photgraphy and printmaking  and who specializes  in photo intaglio and engraving with monoprint. His work has been included in solo, group, and juried exhibitions, and is found in public and private collections throughout the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic. John DeMotte received his BFA in 1987 from the University of Montevallo and he began his career in Washington, DC with the Phillips Collection. On his return to Birmingham in 1991, he joined Atchison Gallery/Village Framers where he is now Vice President and Master Framer. John is a founding member of the artists co-operative, PaperWorkers Local, where he has developed workshops on Solar Plate photo-etching and cyanotype photo processes.
