By popular demand, Shirley Worthington, Professor of Early American literature at Jefferson State University, will be presenting a program exploring how the Puritans established religious freedom as a foundational characteristic of American colonists. As religious fervor dimmed however, the Puritans sought to revive their ‘glory days,’ but instead unleashed their evangelical antithesis.
