Carrie Chappell will read from, and discuss, her new collection of poetry Loving Tallulah Bankhead.
Birmingham native Carrie Chappell will be back in town over the holidays, celebrating the recent publication of her poetry collection Loving Tallulah Bankhead. The poems in the book are addressed to Tallulah, and explore the complex legacy of that Alabama icon, along with themes around growing up as a young woman in Birmingham. The book is also illustrated by Alabama native Lauren Patterson. Carrie Chappell is now based in Paris, France, where her book was published this year by Paris Heretics, so this is a rare opportunity to hear her read in her hometown, and discuss her work with her in person.
Event is free and open to the public
