OLLI of Greater Birmingham presents The Wright Brothers’ School of Aviation in Alabama with Julie Williams, Assistant Professor of Journalism, Samford University, and author.  The Wright Brothers established a flight school in Montgomery to teach flying and to help the country accept the new way to travel.  Newspaper accounts in 1910 gave a picture of flying that portrayed “misconceptions, hopes, dreams, and fears” of the new opportunity.  For most people, it was only a dream as flight was unavailable for most.  Professor Williams recounts the establishment and history of the flying school.
