This workshop is inspired by Post-Impressionist still life painting.
Post-Impressionist paintings are characterized by bold brush work, outlines, pattern, layering of color and emotion-infused color choices. Think Vincent Van Gogh and Pierre Bonnard! In this workshop, you will compose a still life incorporating pattern through use of fabric or imagination.
Peterson will provide several patterned fabrics for the still-life but encourages students to bring their own samples if there is something they feel drawn to paint (it could be a wallpaper sample, a tablecloth, bedspread, a magazine clipping, etc.).
