Recovering the Classics Exhibit and Contest

Recovering the Classics Exhibit and Contest

Presented by Birmingham Public Library at Birmingham Public Library - Central Branch

Recovering the Classics is a crowdsourced collection of original covers for classic books in the public domain created by illustrators, typographers, and designers of all stripes. The Birmingham Public Library is hosting a Recovering the Classics exhibit of redesigned covers of classics books from September 1 through September 30 at the Central Library/First Floor Gallery. The Birmingham Public Library has also partnered with Books-A-Million to host a contest where Alabama artists of all ages and abilities may contribute. Prizes include your cover design on a classic book created by Books-A-Million’s Espresso Book Machine, Books-A-Million gift cards, and Recovering the Classics posters. Come see this exhibit and design your own redesigned cover of a classic book. To enter the contest, visit www.bplonline.org/classics.
