The Montevallo Arts Council Board plans and implements the organization’s primary project of the year, the annual Montevallo Arts Fest in Orr Park. Over 1400 people attended the activities associated with the 2007 Montevallo Arts Fest.

The 2008 Montevallo Arts Fest will be held April 11-12 in Orr Park. On Friday, April 11, authors will read and sign their books at Eclipse Book Store and the House of Serendipity. Friday night will feature a concert by folk vocalist Mae Robertson in the Parnell Memorial Library Theatre at 7:00 p.m. Following the concert will be a reception in the Library Gallery at 8:00 p.m. honoring all the artists and participants in the Montevallo Arts Fest.

Saturday, April 12, will feature the display and sale of the work of a wide variety of visual artists from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A cash award will be given for the best of the art show. The two stages in the park will also feature a variety of performing artists, including Will Kimbrough, Henri’s Notions, and the Spiritualaires.

For two weeks prior to the Arts Fest, Parnell Memorial Library Gallery features works by the visual artists participating in the Fest. The Library Gallery also features exhibits throughout the year–exhibits by local artists as well as traveling exhibits.
