Contra Dancing in Birmingham. FOOTMAD stands for Friends of Old Time Music and Dance. We hold contra’s once or twice a month at the YWCA in Downtown Birmingham. FOOTMAD is open to all. We want to have you join us, and welcome you to come alone or come with friends or family. We are Kid Friendly too! We always have live music at all of our dances, we always have lots of fun. Please expect to have fun. Our Saturday night dances begin at 8pm, but have a beginner session at 7:30pm. Our Sunday afternoon dances do not have a beginner session.
