In its first year (2011), Secret Stages brought thousands of people to downtown Birmingham. For two nights a diverse group of music enthusiasts were treated to over 80 bands and a dozen comedians performing on eleven different stages. These acts were drawn from the nation, the region, and our own back yard. The spirit of Secret Stages celebrates that which is coming next in the world of music and comedy. As we head into Secret Stages 2012 that spirit will remain very much alive.

This year’s Secret Stages is planned for May 11 and 12, 2012. This two-day festival will once again be held in the Historic Loft District of downtown Birmingham. Our partner venues were thrilled with their 2011 experience and each has committed to be a part of the 2012 festival. Matthew’s Bar and Grill, Pale Eddie’s Pour House, Metro Bar, Das Haus, Rogue Tavern, Steel Urban Lounge and the Wine Loft will once again host our lineup of bands and comedians.

Secret Stages aims to be an event that gives to the city and in that vein will once again host a free outdoor stage and block party. Expanding on the last year’s themes, Secret Stages will bring lights, color, food vendors, performing artists and more to a single block in downtown Birmingham.
