Coosa Riverkeeper

 P.O. Box 373, Riverside, AL 35135

Coosa Riverkeeper is a multi-faceted organization monitoring water quality, advocating for the river, and promoting compliance with environmental laws. Coosa Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Coosa River and its tributaries. Our staff Riverkeeper Frank Chitwood actively patrols the watershed by boat and plane, as well as speaks to local groups about the river.

Coosa Riverkeeper isn’t alone in the fight for clean water in the Coosa Valley or Alabama. We work closely with other groups. We are members of Waterkeeper Alliance, the Tri-State Conservation Coalition, and Protect Forever Wild Coalition. In the Coosa Valley we work with the Friends of Big Canoe Creek and Alabama Rivers Alliance. In Alabama we are joined by fellow Waterkeepers: Black Warrior Riverkeeper, Cahaba Riverkeeper, Choctawhatchee Riverkeeper, Hurricane Creekkeeper, Mobile Baykeeper, and Tennessee Riverkeeper.

You can help by volunteering, becoming a member, or making a donation. As a citizen-based organization, we need your support!
