The Jefferson County Hiistorical Association was founded in 1975 with 400 members. We are dedicated to preserving and publicizing local Jefferson County history through quarterly meetings/receptions/lectures, our publication "Jefferson Journal" and special events. We also promote historical preservation efforts through erecting bronze historical markers throughout the county. The organization founded the Birmingham History Center and continues its support of the museum, which has more than 14,000 artifacts..
