The Birmingham Progressive Christian Alliance is a Christian Fellowship that considers itself a part of the Reconstruction Church. We claim the tradition of the Christian Church that was active in the First Reconstruction after the Civil War. We are grateful for the Reconstruction Amendments to the US Constitution, the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments. We celebrate and work for the elimination of all forms of slavery, oppression and injustice against any human being and all creation. We are committed to due process and equal protection under the law for all people of all races, cultures and sexual identies. We are deeply grateful for the Black Colleges in Alabama and America that were founded during the First Reconstruction after the Civil War. We celebrate the fruit they have produced for a stronger and more just Alabama and America. Alabama is a stronger democracy and a more just state because of the leadership produced by these excellent educational institutions.
