Ballantrae Golf Club opened in June of 2004 and is owned and operated by the City of Pelham and managed by PGA professionals. Ballantrae is a semi-private facility serving both club members and the general public. Ballantrae has hosted the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Alabama Open. Ballantrae is an 18-hole Championship course designed by world renowned course designer Bob Cupp. With five sets of tees ranging from 5100 yards to over 7300 yards, Ballantrae offers a course suitable for everyone from the beginner golfer to the accomplished professional. The course meanders through a scenic valley surrounded by gorgeous southern woodlands and breathtaking views. The emphasis at Ballantrae is for customers to have FUN! The fairways are wide, the rough is cut short and there are only a few bunkers to negotiate. “Fun to play, with beautiful vistas” best describes the Ballantrae experience! Ballantrae also has a twenty acre practice facility which is second to none. Our professional staff is on site year round to help with any of your instructional needs. The remarkable 3-level clubhouse was designed to reflect the Scottish motif of the adjacent Ballantrae development, with its 16 separate and distinct neighborhoods. Ballantrae’s golf shop is stocked with all of the top name brands offered at competitive prices. Ballantrae is also the headquarters for the Dixie Section PGA and its 420 members and apprentices. The Fireside Grill is operated by Culinard Catering Services. They offer a wide variety of menu items ranging from tasty salads to appetizing sandwiches. The Fireside Grill may also be reserved for meetings, banquets, and other group functions.
