Pelham, Alabama Get ready to kick off the haunted season early and enter a totally different kind of run for a good cause. The inaugural “Zombie Run 5K” will be held Saturday, September 19th to benefit The American Cancer Society “Relay for Life”. You will be running or walking a 5K from blood-hungry zombies that will be popping out and chasing you when you least expect it along the 3.1 mile course. The race will start and finish at Warehouse31 located at 3050 Lee Street in Pelham, AL. You choose your fate, run as “Zombie Bait” or a “Zombie”. After the run there will be a survivors party at Warehouse31 with music, food, and entertainment.
Utilize your survival instincts and register now before this deal decays. Unlike zombies, this rate and deal won’t come back from the dead. Sign up now before the t-shirt deadline of September 4th. Registration is available until day of the race with no-late fee. Can you overcome your Fear? Are you fast enough or clever enough to avoid the Zombies?
What:
A Zombie themed 5k (3.1 mile) run/walk. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life”.

8:30am Sign-in and pick-up of race items begins at Warehouse31.
10:00am Race begins

The race will start and finish at Warehouse31 Haunted House located at 3050 Lee Street in Pelham, AL 35124
How “Zombie Run 5k” Works:
When you arrive at registration, you will be given a flag belt with 2 flags on it. Wear it so that one flag is on each hip.
Zombies will attempt to remove your flags and “infect you”. Each Zombie may only take one flag.
Even if you are “infected” and have lost both of your flags, you can still finish the race. You do not become a “Zombie”. Finish the race as a runner and return to the party.
Awards:
The first 2 runners to make it to the finish line with their 2 flags still attached are the Zombie Survivors and will receive an award and two VIP tickets to Warehouse31.
The “Zombie” that has collected the most flags will win an award and a pair of VIP tickets to Warehouse31.
Fee to Participate:
Zombie Bait $35
Participant will run or walk the 5k
Race participant will receive 2 flags, bib and admission to the survivor party.

Zombie Bait “Team” Member $30
Create a “Zombie Bait Team” of four or more runners, and each team member runs for the discounted rate of $30.

Zombie with professional make-up $37.00
Receive a professional zombie make-over by the Warehouse31 make-up artists.
Arrive by 7:30am on race day to have enough time to get into make-up.
You will be given a “Zombie Position” where you can chase down runners and attempt to get one of their flags.

Post-race professional make-up $15.00
After the race the Warehouse31 make-up artists will turn you into a zombie for the post-run survival party. This is an add-on for folks who want to participate in the race as a runner or for people that do not want to be in the race but want to enjoy some fun
What will the Post-Run Survivors Party consist of?
“Live Wire Band” will be performing and playing music to get you in the mood to dance with the “Zombies!” (or like a “Zombie”)
Food and drinks will be for sale including beer
Games and activities for adults and kids including Corn Hole, Volleyball, etc…to benefit the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life”
What area high schools are involved in raising funds?
There are (11) eleven area high schools helping to organize and raise funds for this event to benefit “Relay for Life”.
If you have ties to one of these schools we encourage you to select that school when purchasing tickets so they will receive credit.
The schools are as follows: Calera, Chelsea, Helena, Homewood, Hoover, John Carroll, Montevallo, Oak Mountain, Pelham, Spain Park, and Thompson or you may select the ACS Junior Board.
