Spoken Truth Poetry Festival

Real Life Poets, Inc. and Aura (UAB’s Literary Arts Review) present The Spoken Truth Poetry Festival on April 15, 2017, from 12-8 p.m. This festival includes 3 workshops, and a high school and college poetry competition.  Workshops begin at 12 p.m. and last until 3 p.m.  Topics include Art and Activism, How to Become A Published Author and the Art of Performance Poetry.  Twenty students will be selected to be compete in the poetry slam: 10 high schoolers from 3-4:30 p.m. and 10 college students from 5-6:30 p.m. There will also be a featured poetry show from 6:45-8 p.m.
