Last homeless client is served Birmingham’s Project Homeless Connect 2017 is a one-day event sponsored by community leaders and organizations designed to help with housing, medical, legal and other services to people experiencing homelessness in a convenient one-stop format. The ultimate goal of the event is to connect these people with the resources they need to help them leave the streets for better lives. Organizers expect to serve over 750 clients at this event, as well as 750 volunteers. One Roof, the coordinating agency for homeless services in greater Birmingham, is organizing the event in partnership with United Way of Central Alabama, the City of Birmingham and other organizations More than 60 community agencies are participating in this event.
