The Community Nutcracker is committed to supporting and maintaining the highest quality of artistic vision as a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization using local community talent and providing a beautiful holiday tradition for the city of Birmingham. Arova Contemporary Ballet joins the production in the principal roles for the 2015 production. For our third annual holiday production we bring to life the full length Nutcracker ballet with a fresh twist on the classic holiday tale.

The Magic City Nutcracker directors and staff have a passion for giving back to the community. By creating an all community cast and lowering participation costs for dancers, as well as offering need-based and talent-based scholarships, MCN is giving every dancer in the Birmingham community and surrounding areas a chance to be on the stage.

Ages 5 – 18 (adults are welcome with no performance experience) LOCATION:

TIMES:
Ages 5 – 7: 1:30 – 2:30pm
Ages 8 – 13: 2:30 – 3:30pm
Ages 13 and up: 3:30 – 4:30pm
Adults interested in performance opportunities and theater based roles: 4:30 – 5:00pm
Please wear pink tights and a black leotard with black dance shorts or a ballet skirt, if desired. Hair secured in a bun.
Ages 13 and up who are on pointe should bring their pointe shoes. Adults should wear comfortable clothing.
