Birmingham’s community nutcracker ballet invites dancers ages 5 – adult to audition this September 8th. Hey
Join the cast of the Magic City Nutcracker, Birmingham’s Community Nutcracker Ballet! This volunteer and community-based ballet will celebrate its 6th annual production by performing at the historic Virginia Samford Theatre. Auditions will take place at Forma Arts and Wellness in downtown Birmingham. Everyone ages 5 to adult is welcome to audition- some dance training is recommended but not required. Principal dancers Morgan McEwen of MorDance and former dancer with BalletMet and Brian Gephart of MorDance and former dancer with Joffrey Ballet will join the cast as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Performances are November 30- December 2, 2018.
What to wear:
Headshots of each dancer will be taken prior to your audition so please be dressed and ready when you arrive.
Audition times
9:30 – 11:30 am ages 13- adult/advanced dancers (please bring pointe shoes if you have had two years of training or more)
11:30 am -1:00 pm ages 5-8
1:30- 3:30 pm ages 9-12
4:00- 5:00 pm adults interested in acting based roles
*we may ask a dancer to stay for a callback audition. Please be aware that audition days can be long and pack snacks and lobby activities accordingly.
Audition fee is $10 per dancer
