AWC operates almost entirely through voluntary efforts. Migratory bird season is well underway. One-of-a-kind experiences await you & there are many ways you can get involved.
Learn about AWC’s mission & history, volunteer opportunities, & ways to support our work. You’ll meet some of the AWC staff & volunteers, have an opportunity to get answers to your questions, & enjoy a brief tour of our facility. Dress comfortably (we’re mostly a jeans & t-shirt crowd). Orientation is free, but there is an Oak Mountain State Park entrance fee: adults (age 12+) $5; children 4-11 $2 (children 3 and under free); senior citizens (62+) $2. Preregister via website volunteer tab\orientation. If your schedule does not permit you to register in advance, you can simply arrive a few minutes early to complete your registration in person. Quiet children are invited to attend, but please note that the minimum age to volunteer is 18 (16 if accompanied by parent).
