Alabama Charcoal is Space One Eleven’s rigorous (and fun!) studio art and portfolio development program for high school students of all skill levels.
Students learn and strengthen foundation skills, explore individually conceived projects in a wide variety of mediums, go on field trips, learn about art-related careers, and have opportunities to exhibit their work publicly. Juniors and seniors receive guidance from writing mentors for college applications and essays, while building visual arts portfolios to increase college opportunities.

To register, complete one application per child and submit electronically, by mail, or drop it in the mail slot at Space One Eleven.

Families will be notified of scholarship eligibility after submitting the Application for Tuition Assistance in the Registration Form.
Cost: $300 for 15 classes. Fees are based on a sliding scale. Families may qualify for free or reduced tuition, through the generosity of local foundations and private contributors.
Students are welcome to join the class at any time during the semester as long as seats are available. Class cost will be pro-rated for those who join later in the semester.
