Birmingham African American Genealogy Group

The 2018 Black Heritage Fair will be held on Saturday, FEBRUARY 3, 2018, from 11 am to 3.00 pm in the Arrington Auditorium, located on the 4^th floor of the Linn Henley Building across from the downtown Birmingham Public Library at 2100 Park Place, Birmingham, Alabama 35203.  Registration begins at 10.30 am.  This event is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served and door prizes will be drawn. Information about our Group will be available.

This year’s Black Heritage Fair theme is AFRICAN AMERICANS IN TIMES OF WAR, honoring and celebrating African Americans service during wars and conflicts throughout the world.   On display will be genealogy exhibits and family history displays from BAAGG members honoring their family members who served in the United States armed forces.  In addition to exhibits and displays, author and retired Duke University professor, Dr. Tommie Morton-Young and Commissioner George Bowman, District 2, Jefferson County, Major General, US Army Retired will speak.
