Camellia Identification Lecture at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Birmingham Camellia Society is sponsoring a presentation by Dr. F. Wayne Stromeyer, co-author of EARLY CAMELLIAS IN LOUISIANA. Dr. Stromeyer’s lecture briefly summarizes the history of camellia propagation and the introduction of camellias to the United States and Louisiana. Images of some of the most interesting varieties and methods of identification will be featured. Dr. Stromeyer believes that acquisition of camellias in other Southern states shares similarities with that of Louisiana.
