Daniel "Jose" Carr

Trumpeter extraordinaire and member of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Carr also serves as Director of Music Education for the AJHF. Per the AJHF Facebook page, Carr “has been a mainstay of Birmingham’s jazz community. He currently hosts a Tuesday night jam session at B.O.S.S. Ultra Bar and Lounge located in downtown Birmingham.” His lecture will also feature a musical performance and jam session with students—bring your instruments! Co-sponsored with the JSCC Black History Committee.
