Family Book + Film Club: Shrek

Sidewalk’s Family Book + Film Club is film fun for the whole family! Based on our monthly Book + Film Clubs, this summer program is an opportunity for families to share an activity together and for children to engage their reading & critical thinking skills through the summer. Read the book as a family and then join us as we screen the film adaptation and host a round-table discussion.

Book Delivery Registration Deadline: Sunday July 10

Register by the deadline to have your books mailed to you. If you sign up after the deadline, don’t sweat it! You’ll just have to pick up your book from the cinema box office.
The registration fee includes a copy of the book, 1 kids private screening ticket, 1 adult private screening ticket and the post film discussion.

Common Sense Media Film Review: Recommended for ages 6+

Synopsis: Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek whose precious solitude was suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad. Determined to save their home — not to mention his — Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona to be Farquaad’s bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret.
