Craft and music classes with the Alabama Folk School at Camp McDowell
From Scratch weekend is a workshop series designed for true beginners. If you’re interested in learning a musical new instrument or craft, this is the weekend for you. This year’s offerings include classes with expert musicians, artists, and the return of beginner ceramics. Pricing is based on meals, lodging, and tuition:
Lodging Choices: Lodging for this event will be in Bethany Village. Participants will have the option to stay in a Bethany Lodge room or a bunk style cabin. Our lodge rooms each have two queen beds and a private bath. The private rooms open onto a common living space (shared by other students) with refrigerator, coffee maker, stove, microwave, and fireplace. You may book a private room for one or share a room with your spouse, partner, or friend. Cabins are dormitory style, each having 24 twin beds and community bathrooms with private showers and stalls. Pricing depends on your choice of lodging. All lodging options include refreshments on opening night and nine meals throughout the weekend starting with Friday dinner through Sunday lunch.
