INHERENT RHYTHM

Join us at one of Birmingham’s most beautiful venues, the Clubhouse on Highland, for a live music, dance, and art show exploring rhythm in the natural world.

It seems that our universe is pulsing with rhythm on cosmic, subatomic, and biological scales. The orbital motion of the planets and their moons and the never-ending cycles of darkness and light created when a celestial body spins; the way that energy finds a pendulum-like wave pathway to travel in the form of light or sound; the cycles of life and various biological processes.. Not only have we found ourselves in an intricate network of rhythmic systems, but our brains also reward us when we recognize patterns in music or when we move our bodies to the beat, regardless of the insignificance of these skills for survival. It turns out even the top biophysicists can’t figure out why rhythm makes us feel good–but maybe we can!

Come and choose your own path through our immersive world–or will it choose you? Let your senses guide you on a unique journey through our playground, suited for adults and children alike.

Entry is donation-based, so pay what you can to support this talented cast of Birmingham artists, but please don’t let a lack of funds keep you at home! We’ll also have a donation-based cash bar and complementary snacks.
