Love for Literacy "A Better Way to Celebrate Valentine's Day"

The 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. evening event will include a cocktail hour and seated dinner surrounded by the lights of the Birmingham skyline.  Guests can bid on an array of silent auction items and participate in a Wine Pull, Bourbon Toss and Ring Bling. Live jazz music will accompany the mingling and dining. Hosted by WVTM-TV’s Stephanie Walker and Eunice Elliott, the program includes inspirational guest speaker Lacy Gunnoe. ASH Renovations is the “Game Changer” presenting sponsor.

This annual event is presented by Better Basics. Better Basics is a Birmingham, Alabama non-profit organization promoting children’s reading and mathematics literacy.  We have had boots on the ground in the literacy fight for the last 26 years. Better Basics delivers a comprehensive range of research-based intervention and enrichment programs to pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade children in Central Alabama in collaboration with public schools in underserved areas
