RMCO/BSC Whittington Competition Concert

Munger Auditorium, Birmingham Southern College (205-226-4950) 

The Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra will join with Birmingham Southern College to feature the winners of their Dorsey Whittington Competition. The student soloists are a diverse group this year, with Wesley Chambers playing the 1st movement of Gregson’s Tuba Concerto, Brendan McInerney choosing the meditative second movement of Creston’s Concerto for Alto Saxaphone, Baritone Nicholas DeCastro singing arias by Mozart and Handel and Soprano Zoe Wirt presenting an aria from Thomas’s ‘Mignon’. The orchestra will conclude the concert with two of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances. A reception will follow the concet in the foyer of Munger Hall.
