STEP UP for Down Syndrome

October is Down Syndrome Awreness Month, and to culminate a month of advocacy, education, and awareness, Down Syndrome Alabama will sponsor it’s annual STEP UP for Down Syndrome Walk and Celebration. This year’s event is themed “It’s a Picnic in the Park,” because stepping up for Down syndrome is easy and enjoyable, just like a picnic in the park; likewise, the event will include picnic food for purchase, DSA logo picnic blankets for purchase, Go Fish grab bags, a kids’ zone with inflatables, face painting, caricatures, bubbles, and more. Everyone at the walk will have an opportunity to contribute to an collabrative empowerment project to show unity in Down syndrome advocacy. After the walk, a DJ will play tunes until conclusion of the event.
