UAB O'Neal COE Regional Wellness Event

The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is partnering with the City of Birmingham to host a day of holistic wellness for residents of central Alabama on Saturday, April 20.

The first Regional Wellness Day will provide community members access to screenings for common health concerns like glucose levels and blood pressure, as well as cancer screenings for age-eligible individuals. Additional resources on health care and access, social determinants of health, neighborhood environment, and social and community context will be available.

Attendees will have the opportunity to receive health awareness information, interact with professionals from health care and community-based organizations, and participate in group workouts. There will also be opportunities for participation in clinical research and numerous giveaways throughout the event. Biometric screening participants will receive a voucher for the Live HealthSmart Alabama Mobile Market, where fresh produce and a selection of pantry staples, proteins and dairy will be available.
