This mural beautifully depicts tattoos in a different perspective. Pia Muhihu, a Kenyan American Artist, chose to create a mural that would honor the past and connect it with the younger, upcoming generation. They decided to challenge the often stigmatized aesthetic of tattoos and wanted to shine a more positive light on this form of art that honors history, resistance, and remembering.
