Knowledge is Power

This mural depicts the saying “Knowledge is power” and was created by Lydia Walker, a Miles College alum. It portrays the spirit of knowledge and how it is hidden in plain sight. Walker says that as more truths are unfolded regarding the history of people of African descent, the more important it is to seek out all the things that has been pushed under the rug by society. She says “Knowledge is the tool that can build empires. The absence of it incubates ignorance of self and a sense of feeling lost.”
