Cahaba River Society Fry-Down

Cahaba River Society (CRS) is hosting its 14th annual Fry-Down at Cahaba Brewing Company this fall. Fry-Down is a celebration of the Cahaba River – our region’s primary drinking water source and a treasure trove of biological diversity – and includes a day full of fun of with a catfish cook-off competition and festival. Other activities include a beer garden with local craft brews and specialty cocktails, live music, and games.

CRS invites competitors and guests to attend Fry-Down. Corporate and community teams are welcome to compete in the fish fry competition, and all team creations will be evaluated by high-profile judges and have the chance to win awards including Most Creative, Best Presentation, and more. The event was created by and benefits CRS and is the nonprofit’s principal fundraising effort. CRS hopes that the unique, fun culinary event will build more support for Cahaba conservation and new partnerships to sustain CRS’s work to ensure a healthy river for the future.
