The Ethics and Urgency of Psychedelic Medicine in Mental Health

You’re invited to learn (& unlearn) about a class of chemicals that have the power to radically help those of us who most need assistance.

OVERVIEW

Psychedelic medicines include ketamine, LSD, psilocybin/magic mushrooms, ayahuasca, MDMA/ecstasy, and more. Growing up in Alabama, I learned that these were all very dangerous molecules with no therapeutic value. However, discovering the tremendous body of research around their mental health benefits has shifted my perspective. In the past year, I have extensively studied this exciting topic and would like to share what I’ve found.

-To correctly navigate to Birmingham Recovery Center, turn onto International Park Drive from the traffic light on Acton Road. Take your first left (look for a sign with balloons), and follow the signs along the road that goes up the hill to the correct building. There is plenty of free parking outside the building.
