The Ethics and Urgency of Psychedelic Medicine in Mental Health

You’re invited to learn (& unlearn) about a class of chemicals that have the power to radically help those of us who most need assistance.

OVERVIEW

Psychedelic medicines include ketamine, LSD, psilocybin/magic mushrooms, ayahuasca, MDMA/ecstasy, and more. Growing up in Alabama, I learned that these were all very dangerous molecules with no therapeutic value. However, discovering the tremendous body of research around their mental health benefits has shifted my perspective. -To correctly navigate to Birmingham Recovery Center, turn onto International Park Drive from the traffic light on Acton Road. Take your first left (look for a sign with balloons), and follow the signs along the road that goes up the hill to the correct building. There is plenty of free parking outside the building.
