Southern Music Research Center

The Southern Music Research Center is a Birmingham-based 501c3 nonprofit devoted to the documentation and preservation of the many musical histories, traditions, expressions, and experiences of the American South. The “center” of our Center is our online archive: a free, searchable, public repository of rescued recordings, rare photographs, oral history interviews, and other artifacts and ephemera from a wide range of musical genres and eras.
